“I met my husband Blaine at my best friend’s wedding. I was a bridesmaid & Blaine was a guest of the groom (they were friends from being in the Marines together.) The wedding was in Pennsylvania but Blaine was stationed in Virginia on active duty at the time. Luckily since he was stateside, he was able to slip away for the weekend. I was a dedicated bridesmaid, but couldn’t help but notice the cute guy in uniform. Blaine claims he knew the second he saw me walk down the aisle that day, he was going to marry me. We hit it off during the reception & danced together to ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen 😂. After that evening, our whirlwind romance began. We met, got engaged, and married all within 3 months. For the first 2 months of dating, Blaine was making trips to Pennsylvania to come visit me every other week. Then, just as we started falling in love, he found out his station was being moved to California for the next 2 years. He asked me to go with him, but I didn’t want to move my whole life to another state with someone who wasn’t my husband. So… Blaine proposed. We had a shotgun wedding on August 9th, 2012 & just a few short days later, we moved to the west coast as husband and wife. In hindsight, Blaine & I were just a couple of kids when we got married. I was only 22 and he was 25. We realize how crazy all of it was now– but I guess we just went with our gut & trusted that we would figure it out along the way. But I won’t sugarcoat it– our first year of marriage was hard. There was a big adjustment period; we were learning to navigate a new city, living together for the first time, & still learning about each other as newlyweds. We struggled a lot with communication. There were moments when things became so challenging, the divorce word even came up. But we chose to honor our commitment & fight for our relationship. We ended up going to couple’s counseling & I’m so grateful we did. Despite our rocky start, by our first wedding anniversary, our bond was stronger than ever. Of course timing has never been our strong suit. Right around that same time, Blaine had to leave for his final deployment to Afghanistan for 7 months..."(Link in bio for full story.)

"Within 30 seconds of meeting her, my heart stopped. I had to take off my glasses because I couldn't look her in the eyes. I knew life, as I knew it, was over. This was supposed to be a "business" thing... but 2 hours later, it took me EVERYTHING in my power not to kiss her. I sat in my car, with the words "Want to go for a date on the beach to watch the sunset?" On my screen... I pushed the send button. I had no idea that I'd fall so hard. I never really "got" love. I never understood the concept of "falling" or losing the ability to be in control. Now I've found that's what this love thing is all about. It's been 8 months. The best 8 months of my entire life, in every aspect. However- I want to be honest with you, being so deep in love, hurts. It's a level of commitment, to myself, that I've never had. It's a level of understanding I've never experienced. It's an entire other level. It's been a catalyst for the most personal growth in my entire life. On average, I've spent 10 hours a week in therapy, and another 20 hours a week alternating between crying and mad-man happiness. I now know that I was only playing at 1%. I blew up my business 3 weeks before meeting Libby when I realized I had to trust myself... and because of it, in the past 6 months  I've built a business that is now doing over $500,000 in monthly recurring revenue. We'll hit $1,000,000 by September. If I didn't meet Libby, and she wasn't who she is, I wouldn't have realized my purpose in life. And I would still be traveling the world, seeking the next big adventure from the external, instead of realizing what I really sought, can only come from within. She's made me realize that the depth is where all good things come from. I know, that the day I love myself as much as I love her, will be the day that the freedom I've always wanted from my journey will be here. I look back on my past self, and I don't see anyone I recognize. Yet, I look in the mirror now and I see myself. And I look into Libby’s eyes and I see the person I married. The person I get to spend forever with.”

“Emily is the kind of girl you always dream of. I’m from a small town outside of Birmingham, Alabama, so it made sense for me to go to the University of Alabama, but I know God had a special plan in mind when he brought Emily there from Houston, Texas. We met as freshman through a mutual friend a few weeks into school. From the moment I saw her, my life changed instantly- and although Emily won’t admit it, she’s had me wrapped around her finger ever since. We were inseparable & committed throughout undergrad & I knew she was the one. After graduation, we put together a plan for the future. Originally we intended to move to Houston together but that plan changed when Emily was accepted into a 1-year masters program in Alabama. I‎t was an opportunity she couldn’t turn down. We considered the possibility of me staying in Alabama until she graduated, but I worried if I started pursuing my career there, I would never leave. So we agreed that it was best I get a head start in Houston & Emily would meet me there a year later. We went from spending every day together for 4 years, to being in a long-distance relationship (while living in each other’s home states). If that’s not crazy enough, I also ended up moving in with Emily’s parents. When they learned I was moving to Houston, they insisted I stay with them while I got acclimated to the change & as a recent college grad, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. Plus, anyone who knows Emily’s parents will tell you they’re two of the most amazing people on this planet. To give you an example, after Hurricane Katrina, they housed 3 victims who lost their homes. They’re always looking to help others in any way they can. The last year has been the toughest challenge Emily & I have ever endured- but a 12 month sacrifice in exchange for a lifetime of happiness sounded like a deal to us. During my final trip to visit Emily, I proposed. I‎t was perfect timing because we had a lot to celebrate- she just finished her internship that Friday & that Saturday was her graduation & also her birthday. On our way to dinner, while walking along the canal, I got down on one knee. I told Emily I wanted to spend all of her birthdays with her.”
